Baron Complete

I wrapped up another 4 Hellions and more importantly, the Baron.  I did a little shoddy job on the greenstuff on the wings of his skyboard, but the gold designs I did help mask it.  I may at some point do another version of him with the right wings so I don't have to do such a hack job.  Here's the completed work.

Here he is with the other 4 Hellions I finished today.  Now I only have 5 more to go. I'm hoping I can make some progress if not finish them tomorrow.  The next project will be the custom beast masters (on cold ones).

I'm going to pick up some 3" foam spheres at the craft store to work up a webway portal.  The plan is to try the quick webway drop with 3 small beast packs coming out of them.  More Dark Eldar as the week goes on, and potentially some dwarf pirates!

First Batch of Hellions Finished

These Hellion models may be my favorite models in the range.  Dynamic, individual, and most importantly plastic!  It doesn't hurt that with the Baron they actually perform well in the game too!  I've finished my first batch of 5 Hellions.  9 to go and 1 Baron.

They've taken me a little longer to paint then I expected, but I keep changing up my list so that doesn't help.  Here is what I need to complete on the Dark Eldar project before Adepticon:

- 2 more Raiders
- 1 Wych
- 9 Hellions
- 1 Baron
- 6 more Razorwing Flocks (flying rippers)

Additonally I have to do:

- Team Display Base
- Vehicle Wrecked and Destroyed Templates
- Pain Tokens
- Creative Army Lists
- Banner
- Standard Display Base
- Webway Portal

Honestly, I haven't even started my dwarf pirates for the Fantasy Team tournament... going to be a lot of painting in the near future!

Which Wych?

I finished up my last 4 Wyches for the squad of 10 (9 of which will be used depending on configuration).  I kept the colors simple and continue to use red hair to keep my color pallet from getting to much variety.

Here's the completed squad!

I'm now working on the baron and 9 hellions.  I'm almost done with 5 and the baron and the other 4 are half way finished. I hope to have pictures up by tomorrow night.  It's going to be a crazy week seeing that my Thursday, Friday and Saturday are booked solid in the evenings.  That pretty much means that whatever I'm done painted with will be as far as it gets for the Sunday tournament.

Dark Eldar Warrior Squads Done!

I wrapped up my three squads of Dark Eldar Warriors.  They're in the all-too-familiar 5 warriors with a Blaster variety, but hey it works.  I think they turned out pretty well.  My original idea of doing intricate gold swirly designs and runework embedded in the armor just didn't pan out.  Those plates are just too small.  I probably could do something to that effect on a marine army like Word Bearers.  Project for another day.

I also built and primed up the crazy Dark Eldar Tantalus.  It's a lot bigger then I thought.  Was fairly easy to assemble, but the hull didn't line up quite properly and called for some gap filling.  I botched one side of it so there will be sure to be passengers hanging over the edge there.  The little horns going around the outside were a pain in the butt to put on.  I'm really looking forward to painting it!

Right now I'm finishing up 4 wytches so I can have 10 finished (9 with or without a shardnet).  I'm heading over to my team-mate Dan's place to work on team "Most Friendly" Sea Monster.  I'll be sure to put up photos of that as well.

"Most Friendly" Sea Monster!

I finally had a productive night of painting and finished up 5 dark eldar warriors... yeah I took over a month off, but now I'm jazzed about getting things painted.  My goal is to have my 1,850 list finished for a tournament on the 19th of this month.  This will give me more time to work on the extras like vehicle destroyed counters, pain tokens, etc.

My other big project is MFSM, the "Most Friendly" Sea Monster.  There is a group of 4 of us doing two, two man teams that are pirate / sea monster hunters.  We created a quick blog at "Most Friendly" Sea Monster.  We'll be themed out at Adepticon on the Sunday team tournament.

My buddy Cliff's blog article discusses the history of the "Most Friendly" Sea Monster.  Good story.

My 1,000 points of Fantasy will be dwarf based around the slayer pirate models.  I don't have a whole lot of time to paint the project up, so I'll probably be taking some short cuts and buying resin boats.  More to follow on both blogs!

I'll get up some pictures of the dark eldar tomorrow.
