I figured I'd try to mix it up a bit and do a simple conversion that isn't so original... putting my chaos marines on horses instead of bikes. I've always loved the chaos knights, their horses are amazing sculpts. Plus it allows me to showcase some of the cool Dragon Forge bases.
I'll be running these as part of the Gorepack. It's been a productive weekend of painting. My wife gets major points for letting me paint in every free moment!

Thunder, Thunder, Thunder-Grav, HO!
Happy Valentine's day everyone. Thought I'd throw some red miniatures your way in honor of the holiday... well, red miniatures everyday since that's all I'm painting. Khorne Red has been a highly used commodity.
First off, here's the thunderfire cannon I finished up. Nothing too fancy, but it does the job. I try to go traditional colors for my specialist marines: Red = techmarines, white = apothecary, blue = librarians, gold = commanders.
I still need to add some leaf litter and grass to the bases. Same thing goes with my grav gun bikers and attack bikes. Since our adepticon team tournament army has a ton of grav guns and I really don't want to bit order every single one, I thought a conversion was in order. Since I'm a big necron player, I took a ton of the deathmark guns, and cut off the stock where the hand was holding. I then shortened up the gun, I think it looks like a cool looking specialist weapon and fits the whole grav gun idea.
Here are some more attack bikes, they really are calling for stuff to be added to the bases.
Next up I'm going to crunch through the imperial guard!

Marine Bikes & Adepticon Plan
Tick tock, tick tock... the clock is counting down until Adepticon. The Adeptus Film Co. team is now on our third year and I've been having a blast with these guys. It's just a bummer that we don't live closer, we could get together more often.
This year we're going for Imperial theme. Unfortunately we base all of our miniatures different and my OCD kicked in and volunteered myself to paint all 4k of the imperials while the rest of the team focuses on the display base and all of the fun extra stuff. I'm hoping I can knock out a good chunk before the baby is due (Feb 12) because I have no idea if I'll be able to paint after.
We're emphasizing on a bit of a glass cannon with speed. We'll see how that goes.
Here are 5 of the bikers I knocked out to set the paint scheme. It's following my standard Knight's Angelus that focuses on red and silver as primary colors with gold accents. I trim most of the weapons in black.
Bases are done on Dragon Forge Design, I'll be doing a combination of the Sanctuary and Ancient Ruins series. Sometimes I'll throw in some scratch built ones if they will be mostly covered in grass. I still need to add static grass and dead leaf foliage.
To help me move along on what I need to paint. I also calculated in rough terms how many points I have to paint. Drumroll please...
Only 511 out of 4k painted!

Techmarine on Bike with Conversion Beamer
Here is my crazy kitbash of a bunch of different kits to come up with a techmarine on bike with a conversion beamer. It makes for a fun HQ that is fairly durable and can dish out some strength 10 goodness from across the board! As all my bikes will be red in the new scheme, I went with the typical techmarine red armor. My normal marines will have silver and I'll paint the librarian in blue.
Hopefully it doesn't look too goofy, I think it captures the feel without being overly crazy.
Next up, 8 marines!
